About

Hello Everyone out there in internet land,

My name is Parris, I am currently 23, and I am a student at San Jose State University with hopes of getting into a grad school with my BS in Computer Science. I am a web designer, web programmer, programmer, game programmer , and musician. I decided to make this blog to display all my projects and accomplishments. It is a portfolio of sorts, but also a memoir.

Programming Tools and Languages: Java, C#, PHP (ver 5), CakePHP,.net, XNA, MySQL, Paypal API, FedEX API (of doom),  a little bit of Torque, CSS, Javascript, Flex, OpenGL, C, C++, Selenium, Actionscript 3, Flash, among others.

Art Tools: Fireworks (I hate photoshop), Illustrator (I wish I were better at drawing), 3ds Max, and Flash.

Music Tools: Cubase, Melodyne, Fruity Loops, Guitar, Synth, Violin (i suck but it sounds good in the recording), and more. (I’ll talk about my rig later)

So I won’t go to much into detail about my projects here, but right now one of my main priorities are:

www.letswoosh.com

It is constantly being upgraded by myself. I made the cms. All that good stuff. Right now it is in beta basically and I am keeping it small, I have some cool concepts in the works for it before making it go big!

CakePHP CMS

I am currently developing a CakePHP CMS in my spare time. It is looking pretty awesome now. I am not sure if I am going to open source it or not. Probably :) . UPDATE: It will be opensourced, once we clean it up a little more and get it ready for “primetime”

NetApp

I am working for NetApp right now. In their NetApp University Department. I am basically making game prototypes, a course builder, unit testing stuff and researching e-learning techniques.

Microsoft Student Partners

Marketing for Microsoft is pretty cool. Basically my job is to be a trained assassin who gives out awesome prizes and talks about how the big MS is actually out to help out students and such :) .
